We hope that everyone staying in Stromness and all our visitors enjoy the 67th Stromness Shopping Week!
As usual there will be a wide range of street entertainments during Shopping Week that will thrill and excite and engage both children and adults alike.
The award winning Stromness Royal British Legion Pipe Band will be playing selections of music throughout the week in various locations.
The Shopping Week's Resident Band will play at various times throughout the week at the pierhead and in local pubs at night and of course at the open air dance on Saturday night where they will play from 7pm until Shopping Week comes to an end at 11pm.
Following its continuing success in Shopping Week the popular Shopping Week Hack will take place on Sunday 19h July at 12:30.
As usual we will have all the old favourites such as the Yard of Ale, the Beer Race, Holms Swim, and the Shopping Week 10k Race.
There will also be a full programme for the children of sports, round the town race, workshops, with many activities to take part in.
The Community Centre will be open for visitors who will hopefully enjoy the Flower Club and WRI displays.

An all age event to be held at Graham Place during Stromness Shopping Week will take place on Wednesday, July 22, and not on Thursday, July 23, as reported in today’s edition of The Orcadian.
On Wednesday, from 10 am until 4pm, shops and businesses will host a variety of activities including food. At 6pm a special drumming event is planned and anyone with a hand drum or percussion instrument is invited to go along and take part.
