Welcome to the Official Stromness Shopping Week Website
We hope that everyone who stays in Stromness and all our visitors enjoyed the 63rd Stromness Shopping Week!
Appearing during Shopping Week were Cake and Candy who entertained with, amongst other things, their stilt walking skills and range of Circus arts.
The visiting Pipe Band this year was the award winning Stromness Royal British Legion Pipe Band who played selections through the week in various locations.
The Bank for the Week were Full Circle. This dedicated and professional function band had a comprehensive play list from 50's rock and roll classics through to modern chart toping musical hits. With the addition of their world class fiddle player they were able to provide a lively Scottish Ceilidh set.
As usual we had all the old favourites such as the Yard of Ale, the Beer Race, Holms Swim, etc.
There was a full programme for the children of sports, round the town race, workshops, with many activities for them to take part in.
The Community Centre was open for visitors who hopefully enjoyed the Flower Club and WRI displays.
